Frequently Asked Questions

What is an NFT?

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. Non-Fungible means it cannot be replaced by another item of the same type even if it appears similar.

It's a digital asset and the data stored with it is saved permanently and transparently on a blockchain.

The data cannot be altered and is publicly viewable making NFTs the perfect vehicle for investment and as proof of ownership.

They get bought and sold on Marketplaces, the most widely used being one called OpenSea which is where the Santas Cause NFT is for sale.

How does Santas Cause NFT work?

Series 1 is about Proof of Concept & Proof of Trust so only has a limited run of 2300 total NFTs available for purchase.

- The funds from the sale of these is pooled together in a secure online wallet nicknamed Santas Sack.

- The best feature of the blockchain is that all funds and transactions made to or from the Santas Sack wallet are publicly viewable.

- Each s1 Santas Cause NFT you own gives you 1/2300 ownership in s1 Santas Sack.

- Santas Sack is then invested through an Australian based trust in to gold ETFs. (A gold ETF is a way to invest in gold without having to physically purchase store and then sell actual gold it can also be a way to speard one stock over a few different companies or even aspects of the gold market)

- This grows for a set amount of time specific to each series via dividends and etf/stock price which is based on gold price so traditionally has trended upwards *

- Mid-November 2026 all assets and stocks are liquidated and funds are returned to s1 Santas Sack.

- Late-November 2026 - The series 1 buy-back price is announced.

- Late November 2026  - You put nft up for sale on OpenSea for the specified price which is  it is 1/2300 of the new balance of Santas Sack.

- 1 December - Santas Sack is used to buy-back alll NFTs the funds from your sales will show in your online wallet and you can then cash out through an exchange in time for Christmas Shopping - hence helping Santas Cause of spreading joy at christmas.

All NFTs can be sold at any stage on OpenSea based on current market value, which will be updated weekly at oldbeardy.com.

This means that you don't have to wait for the christmas buy-back if you need $, you can "cash out" by selling your nft at any time **

* While the gold price has historically increased steadily, previous performance cannot be used to accurately gauge future performance - there is always an element of risk.

** I (old beardy) will keep a portion of what I make from each series in my wallet so that I can buy-back at any stage at the current market value.

What happens to the funds once I buy some Santas Cause NFTs?

ALL funds from s1 stay in s1 Santas Sack until the investment phase so can be used to buy-back/refund any NFTs before then.

If a series doesn't sell out you have the option of a buy/back then or we continue with the numbers we do have or a combination of the two.

The whole concept is massively scalable so it works whether there's 1 person involved or 10,000.

Blockchain technology makes the whole process very transparent and accountability very easy to establish.

All balances and transactions made by or through Santas Sack are publicly viewable at:

only 1 person has access to Santas Sack.

All funds are invested through a registered, Australian-based trust in to the ASX.

Upon the buy-back stage being triggered (mid November 2026 for s1) all assets are sold and funds sent to s1 Santas Sack.

These funds are divided equally between each NFT and that is the price old beardy buys them back off you for after December 1.

How are the funds allocated?

90% is used in your series' Santas Sack investments, grows as much as possible and then is used to buy-back your series' NFTs at christmas.

10% goes to the team (old beardy) but is only made available following the Investment phase.

                                        - I will set aside a portion of what I make to buy-back any SCNFTs at current market value if you need to sell them early.
